Sorry don't know about flower/plants but if you want to send some delicious biscochitos from Albuquerque NM go to this website.

No this is not my company, but I eat there all the time and it is delicious.
Is there a reasonably-priced and efficient online service to send flowers/plants as gifts to Spain?

Where are some good sites on the internet to help me design my flower garden?
I'm realizing that I'm not very good at designing our flower garden and I thought maybe I could get some help online. I'm working with annual flowers right now. I did a search and found a couple of sites, but I'm looking for something simple - maybe with pictures and simple information. Any helpful sites would be appreciated. Thanks.
Where are some good sites on the internet to help me design my flower garden?
I personally think the best rules in design are as few as possible. Just plant and have fun! That being said they teach us master gardeners a few basic rules:
1-Keep it simple.
2-Plan for low maintenance.
3-Work from an overall plan (I often violate this)
4-Call Miss Dig (A free service in Michigan - it's to locate buried power lines.)
5-Don't make beds too narrow.
6-Don't plant trees too close to the house or other plants.
7- Make sure you get plants which do well in your climate and region.
With that in mind, here's some sites:
Reply:I agree with that guy! He said all that i would have said if i got here first! Too bad i didnt.... that is some great advice! You should listen to him! I love flower gardens but they are hard sometimes to decorate!...You just cant figure it out. And it could be really hot so you dont even want to even try and do anything with it so it just looks terrible...you should get on decorating your garden and mabey get off the computer?...lol..jp....Cassie

Is it cheaper to go into a store to buy flowers or order them online.?
I need to have them delivered in my area on Monday. Could I get a better deal if I actually go to a florist's shop as opposed to picking them out online?
Is it cheaper to go into a store to buy flowers or order them online.?
Online, http://www.flowersbloom.com is good
Reply:I always will support the local florist over an online retailer. I've been burned every time with poor quality flowers purchased online/over the phone. From now on I'll only purchase what I can see, smell, and hold.
Reply:i'd say it would be better to go into a store. that way you could see what your buying and you dont have to pay shipping! =]

Has anyone ordered silk flowers online? I am specifically looking for cherry blossoms?
I have checked the local craft stores but they just weren't doing it for me....

Reply:Silk flowers are tricky. If you get the wrong ones they can look extremely cheap and tacky. I recommend going to a local craft store like Michaels or Garden Ridge so you can see what you are purchasing and do not end up disappointed. If you live in a large city you may even have a discount place that is just a huge warehouse of silk flowers. We have one here in STL but I cannot think of the name of it.
Reply:YAY! i had silk cherry blossoms for my wedding!
mine were pink and i used them as centerpeices, drapped them over the wedding arch, and used them to decorate the cake and the registration table! and they were GORGEOUS!
my wedding was japanese themed, because my husband and i are moving to japan in a couple of months!
my parents actually went to the philippines and bought 6 dozen cherry blossoms for 10x cheaper than you can get it anywhere i looked! i would sell you what i have but all my guests took them home and i only have one vase full =( left for me to take.
michael's does have cherry blossoms. but you might want to check it out and maybe you can order different colors. because i only saw white ones available there.
ebay has some in a variety of colors, but the batches are small.
not sure how many your looking for. but if its bulk, i suggest going to your local asian crafts store. if they don't have any, ASK THEM because they are the best people to ask and they'd most likely know where to get it cheap!
good luck and congrats!

I have spent ages looking online for silk peonies because I was also dissapointed with the craft stores - I was dissapointed with most Aust online stores too.
I found the best site was www.fioribelli.com The guy has won heaps of awards and because it's a US site we don't have to pay exhorbadant prices for quality silk flowers. Anyway check it out and see what you think. They have cherry blossoms 6 stems for $49.95 (approx $55 au). They have white but sold out of pink - if you want pink they should be able to get them in quickly for you!
I contacted then last week to see if they would ship to Australia and they said they would but to be wary of customs tax. I checked with customs and there is no tax if spending less than the equivalent of $1000 au.

Does anyone know where there are cheap silk flowers suppliers online?

Why is costco, trader joe's,1-800 flowers, and large corporations trying to overshadow flower shops?
I don't understand why large corporations take advantage of small businesses, all those online "florists" like pro-flowers, blooms.net and 1-800 flowers, rip people off.
I ordered a large arrangement from 1-800 flowers and I didn't get the best quality in flowers, I would rather order from a local flower shop now, especiall y those that are family owned.
they give you the best service and products it was worthe the money, pricey, but worth every penny. I still don't understand why some people are still dumb enough to support those large corporations that have no knowledge or passion like a REAL flower shop does. Is it because small flower shops don't have enough money to advertise like large corporations do?

It's called capitalism. Get used to it because it's not going anywhere any time soon.

Reply:I actually had a friend who was going through a similar problem. What I'd do is go to the tattoo parlor and tell the tattoo artist what you're thinking. There's a good chance that they've done something similar, so have a picture of what you want in one of their books. Also, I had my lady free-hand it because she's really good. Just make sure that they do a sketch for you to see if you like it!

Ordering flowers/plants online...?
Has anyone ever ordered flowers online?
I want to send a plant (not fresh cut flowers) as a gift and want to order it online. (i.e. 1-800-flowers, proflowers, virtual florist, etc.)
Have you ordered online? From where? What was the quality? Do you recommend that site?
Ordering flowers/plants online...?
We've used 1-800-flowers.com. I think that it's good: reasonable cost and deliveries have always worked out. You could also contact a florist in the area that you want to have the plant delivered and order "locally" online. We have also done this and it worked out fine as well.

Reply:as a florist, I am telling you the truth here.
Your best bet is to call your local florist, or if you live out of town and need to "wire" flowers to someone, get on the internet and locate a flower shop in that area.
Most if not all flower shops will take an order using your credit card.
Do not make the mistake of putting a middle man (like 1-800) into your final sale, it will only make the costs go up.
Reply:Go to your local florist shop. They can arrange to have a live plant arrangement delivered just the same as they can arrange to have cut flowers delivered.
Good luck with your shopping.
Reply:I have found the best way to order plants/flowers is to call a local florist directly, in the town in which the recipent lives. The online ordering places seem to have lots of charges added on to the actually price of the plant and you never know what you'll get. However, if you call a local place you will just get a delivery charge. And they are much more likely to make you what you want, not just what is seen online. And local businesses are usually much more pleasant to work with than online order companies. Just go to a place like dexonline.com, type in floral and the city and you should get a list of local shops. Good Luck!

Should I send a girl who I have gotten acquainted with online flowers?
I met a girl online. I have been sending emails back and forth with her almost everyday for about two months. I think she is a great person and I would like to show how much I appreciate her. In a proper (non-internet) relationship guys would sometimes give a girl something like flowers. I would love to do that by sending some to her online, but I am concerned that she might not like it. Because in order to have them sent out I would need to ask for an address of some kind. Is asking something like this acceptable even if I were to ask for a work address? I do not want to mess anything up - what is the best thing to do?
Should I send a girl who I have gotten acquainted with online flowers?
send her an ecard w/ flowers on it. she may not be ready to give you an address and if you have her email you can still send her something that lets her know you appreciate her friendship.
Reply:I think it is a great idea! Instead, why don't you send her an ecard? That way you can avoid the awkwardness of asking for an address. Just do a search for ecard and you will find a bunch of sites. Good Luck!!!

There you can go and look for yourself what they have. Sometimes there are variations in how a particular shipment looks, and you can on the spot switch one flower for a similar looking one that seems fresher.
You can also sometimes haggle and deal.
Just google "Flower wholesaler" or "Bulk Flowers" and your city or state. Also check this out: http://www.floralandgift.com/wholesale/f...
That being said, your online dealers will be a close 2nd.

Reply:Wherever you are in the world, Interflora will deliver for you. They are online and will not reveal your ID to the recipient unless you put your name on the message.
Reply:aww.. thats sweet. i think most florist will not reveal your identity. for the most part, the only way they find out who sent the flowers is thru the card... so goodluck :)
Reply:Usually the only indicator they put on the delivery is the little card inside. Just don't put your name on it... make sure to sign it "your secret admirer" so that the florist doesn't assume you forgot and add your name to the card.

I am looking for wedding flowers, so I need great quality.
What is the best online wholesaler of flowers to the public?
Try http://www.onlinewholesaleflowers.com
Very good quality- decent pricing. Right now you can get roses for 67 cents a stem!!
They also have this thing called "wedding in a box"- http://www.onlinewholesaleflowers.com/we...
Reply:I'm getting mine from Sams club, they also have them at Costco. I'm going to order them and pick-them up at the store.
Reply:Without a doubt check out your local wholesale club: BJs, Sams Costco. You will find beautiful flowers cheap. Talk to them ahead of time to place a special order to ensure they have as much of what you need as you need when you need it!
Reply:My sister is in the middle of planning her wedding and we found that the cheapest thing is silk. They look real and great, and they're a lot less expensive than real flowers depending on what you were looking for.
Reply:Proflowers.com
They have beautiful flowers. They will make anything you can imagine. Good luck and Congrats!
Reply:You may want to stay away from Sam's Club and Costco, the quality of their flowers is not the greatest.
And some other advice, know what you're getting yourself into. I dont mean to discrouage you, but there is a LOT of work in getting flowers ready for a wedding. Do research, and ask around, florists will usually be happy to give you advice. Afterall, most florists have years of experience behind them...

Where can I buy boquets of flowers online for a reasonable price? Silk or real?
I want to compare prices with my local florist. Thanks
Where can I buy boquets of flowers online for a reasonable price? Silk or real?
I generally like to shop at a couple of stores and I really think FTD is my favorite when it comes to buying flowers there. They have real flowers, and the service is really good, they deliver it on time and the flower arrangements are really pretty in my opinion.
Here are a couple of websites.
http://www.ftd.com
http://www.teleflora.com
I think flowers can get quite pricey from florists, if you know how to do flower arrangments, you can always get a few bunches of flowers from your local supermarket if they have a floral section and they have very reasonable prices imho.
Good hunting for flowers :)
The person receiving them will be happy to receive such a nice gift :)
P.S Please read the fine print and find out how much the delivery charges are first. And before you submit your payment, check if it's how much you are willing to spend. :)
Reply:Proflowers.com is the best priced Ive seen.If you click on seen on tv you then enter mother as password you get a dozen roses for 19.99 with vase and they will bill you later. The other flowers are well priced also.

What is the name of the light purple roses without thorns, and where can I buy them online?
I think there is a set of roses called "silver dusts" that are light purple and have no throns, but I am not sure of the name. Plus, I'd like to know of a flower delivery service online where I can purcjhase them and have them delivered.
I saw them in the movie "Bed of Roses" with Christian Slater.
10 points if you can tell me where I can order them to have them delivered.

They're called "Sterling Silver" roses. (That was a great movie, wasn't it?)
I'm really not sure those would be the type of flowers you could buy online easily - you'd probably have better luck calling your local florist and having them special order you some. Specifically, you could try a florist that specializes in doing special events and weddings. (One that is used to being asked to provide unusual flowers!)
A girlfriend of mine wanted some of those for her bridal bouquet, like BAD... and although she did eventually find a florist who could get her some, they were so hideously expensive, she could only afford to have a single one of them in the center of her bouquet.
So anyway, bottom line - probably won't be easy to find, definitely won't be cheap, but good luck, it will make an unforgettable gift!

How do I make a big bouquet of flowers on gaia online?
I've only been able to make singles at the flower shop. I'd love to know how to make a large one! Thanks
How do I make a big bouquet of flowers on gaia online?
For a regular bouquet you'll need 10 of the same type of flowers, 1,000 gold, and optionally 1 ink to dye the paper wrapper and 1 ink to dye the ribbon. For a deluxe bouquet you'll need 25 of the same type of flowers and 2,500 gold, and optionally, 1 ink to dye the paper wrapper and 1 ink to dye the ribbon.
Sunflowers are special and cannot be made into regular or deluxe bouquets. They are only available singularly. Which is sad since I think they'd make really pretty deluxe ones!
Reply:You have to get a large amout of flowers (usually a 100 or so) and some gold to pay for it.
You can also buy a ready made bouquet that is an avatar item called Phalaenopsis Bouquet .
Hope that helps!
Reply:get alot of the same kind of flower and ink.

Where is it best to order Mothers Day flowers online?
Last year I used a site called Flowers For Mothers Day. Think the site link was http://www.flowersformothersday.co.uk
They have all the Mothers Day flowers from the online florists and show the latest offers like free chocolates and discounts when you order online.
My Mum received her flowers on time. They were fresh, lasted over a week and she was really chuffed. So, I'll be using them again.

Reply:My advice is DON'T use flying flowers.
Reply:Don't use NEXT my daughter sent me some recently, they were in a type of red galvanised jug and only lasted 4 days, not a nice selection either
Reply:Hi there,I have mostly ordered from "Waitrose" good prices and if you check they sometimes throw in a box (small) choccies, they have good selection and my mum says they last (the flowers) for weeks!!
Reply:Dont know where you are but I always do a search for the florist that is nearest to the recipient, and order from them. Generally you wont get charged a delivery or admin fee and theres less chance of a cock up occuring.

Buying flowers online?
Hey ya'll. I just have a kind quick question. I looked around myself for a little while but couldn't find anything. Does anyone know a site that will allow me to buy flowers (preferably not too expensive) online and gives me an option to send a custom card with 'em? My little cousin just graduated high school and I'd like to send her some flowers with a little saying on a card..
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Buying flowers online?
800flowers, or proflowers will usually have an option when ordering if you want to include a personalized card. It costs a bit extra but worth it. I highly recommend Pro Flowers because their flowers last a lot longer. Congrats to your little cousin!!!

Reply:Do a little research and find a florist near your cousin. If you call a florist near your cousin, you will get more for your money. Don't call companies that forward the order for you, they charge you to handle your order, meaning you get less for your money. A florist can also include your custom message.

Buying flowers online and ship to canada?
can i buy flowers online from the U.S and get them shipped to Canada?
how much would i have to pay like taxes
Buying flowers online and ship to canada?
Three problems with that:
1) Shipping by mail or courier will cost a lot, even for a lightweight bouquet.
2) The flowers will stop at Canada Customs and can be held there for several days. Imagine the poor things getting wilted either from excess heat and no water, or from excess cold in a storage facility.
3) Customs may refuse the shipment due to the fact that it is a plant which may affect the local environment in Canada. For example, if a bug from Southern USA or California hitches a ride on your flowers to Toronto, where it has no natural enemies.
My best recommendation to you is go online to the FTD website. Canada has many florists that are part of the FTD network. They can order a bouquet or arrangement locally from an authorized shop, and you won't have to pay extra costs to get them shipped to Canada in questionable condition.
Reply:Hi, actually it doesn't matter from which country you order flowers to Canada.
As soon as you place the order, say in Africa, your order will be transferred to a flower distributor in Canada. The worker there will then pack your flowers from their cooler, and send them to the destination by a common carrier like Fedex.
I know that many consumers are fooled by this "Fresh from Field" ad, such as ProFlowers'. But the reality is that most common flowers are constantly being shipped from the growers (Columbia and Ecuador are two dominant players) to distribution centers in each country (Maiami in the US). They are shipped in boxes containing thousands after thousands of stems. The flowers then sit at the distribution center, waiting for the order to come.
It's not like, every time an order comes, a grower goes to the field to cut several stems of flowers for you. That would be a logistical nightmare.
Reply:The easiest way to send flowers is to order them online. That way the arrangement can be made locally and delivered to whoever you want.

If I am ordering roses/flowers online, and they say that they will be shipped "bareroot", what does that mean?
"Bareroot" means they will ship it to you as a few 1 foot long stems with 5 or 6 roots. You will have to supply the pot and soil . What you do is snip a little bit off the roots to stimulate growth. Fill the pot up 75% with soil. Place bareroot rose in pot and continue adding soil by hand surrounding the roots with dirt with your fingers until they are just covered. Leave soil about 3 to 4 inches from top of pot so when you water you dont lose dirt. I have planted thousands of bareroot rosesthis way as this is how nurseries order them. When planted in January, and greenhouse grown, they usually take 2 months to be fully flushed with foliage and 2 more months to bloom. This is approximate, as all plants are different. One ting, make sure you don't cut off too much of the roots, as I have seen roses never flush out as a result. Hope this helps answer your question.
If I am ordering roses/flowers online, and they say that they will be shipped "bareroot", what does that mean?
Bareroot roses are simply roses that come wrapped in a plastic sleeve and not a pot. They are not high-maintenance as the rumour goes, but they do need a bit of special handling.
Bareroots don't have as extensive a root system as potted roses do. Hence, they need to be soaked in water prior to planting (they tend to dry out quicker than potted plants).
Also, if you are having them shipped to you, it is important to get them in side as quickly as possible, so they don't "cook" on your front step.
Plant them after soaking, and keep them well watered.
Hope that helps!
Reply:The plants will not be packed in soil and will be very young.

go to ebay.
My cousin is getting married in June and she bought all of her dresses on ebay for next to nothing. From bridesmaid, flower girl, wedding, to all the mens tuxes.
Reply:BHS has some lovely dresses or Debenhams but they're usually over £60 depends how much you're wanting to spend.
There is also Reeta's shop up at The Gallowgate in fact I think there used to be a woman at the Barras that did bridesmaids/christening/first communion dresses.
I got my bridesmaid's dress in Panache in Stockwell Street and it was reasonably priced. Angelique Lamont in Howard Street sometime's sell of their bridesmaid's dresses so that's worth a look too.

Reply:You have missed the opportunity to buy your daughter a lovely Flower Girl's dress at a substantial reduction.
The best places to buy "fancy dresses" that can be worn as Flower Girl dresses is all the dress stores and department stores that have carry "holiday dresses" for little girls. All of these dresses are dramatically reduced after the "Christmas holiday" to make room for spring clothes.
You will not get this opportunity again until the spring-summer clothes are cleared out for fall clothes.
Try to avoid buying your daughter's dress in a bridal shop. Have you considered having one made? A friend who sews or check your local newspaper for "dressmaker."

If i ordered flowers online, would they be delivered the same way as local shops?
i don't want them showing up in a box, i want them to get there already arranged and everything. No opening a box involved.
If i ordered flowers online, would they be delivered the same way as local shops?
online flower shops have contacts already with local flower shops. so as if anyone will order online, then they will just wire it to their local shops for delivery. but some online flower shops have their own shops too that's why some page have warnings like "no international delivery".
Reply:yeah, they will have a local florist deliver them.

Whos got the best price for online flowers?
Mothers Day is here and my mom is far away. I've used 1800 flowers before but I think their prices are kind of high. Does anyone know who's got the best deal?
Whos got the best price for online flowers?
Find a local florist that has a website. FTD, Teleflora and 1800Flowers will charge you a "service" charge just to take your order. That extra charge can be as much as 14.00 and does not go towards your order.
Proflowers ships arrangments in a box, with the vase and flowers separate. Your recipient will have to "arrange" their flowers, add water to the vase, and then enjoy them. It is sort of an expensive DIY kit.
Best Wishes!
Ms. Orchid
Reply:You can try Pro Flowers. They are a few dollars cheaper than FTD and 1 800 Flowers. Good Luck!

Looking for a FLOWER expert... The other day i saw an intresting bunch of flowers....?
They had 6 petals, were yellow, every other petal had a drop of red. each bloom was the size of a fifty cent peice (i believe) They were very close to the ground and either grow very close together or were planted that way... i cant remember the stemming or leafing =( im so sorry. I looked up an online flower encycolopedia and searched the entire thing and came up empty handed. Im fairly certain its a plaint you could get from a common green house, like walmart, but i just cant seem to find it. Also i saw the flowers in a 'landscape' type setting, not growing in the wild. If any one has any ideas PLEASE help. Thanks so much.

Use the National Wildlife Foundation website. You can put in the information you have, and it will give you a list of plants that fit your description.

An expensive way online for 1 flower but go into any Florist and they would sell you one rose .
Reply:Your best bet is to go to a local florist, even if youre sending out of town it will save you $, there are alot of hidden fees online.

proflowers.com was terrific. They keep you posted every step of the way. My mom was thrilled for mothers day.

I have to agree with the teleflora recommendation. I have sent flowers for funerals, birthdays, and coworkers both in my own city and across the country. I have never had a bad comment, nor have I had any problems with billing,(added on charges not mentioned at time of sale).
One other thing, I wasn't bothered by daily emails from the company announcing sales or specials. I have had that problem in the past from other online companies.

What happens if nobody's home if i order flowers for delivery online?
will they just leave the flowers on the doorstep, or come back another time? also for those who've ordered flowers online before for mother's day, what day is a good day to order for delivery? i have the full day off thursday. if i order for delivery thursday, will the flowers still be good to give on sunday? or should i order for delivery on sunday? sorry for all the questions as i am not experienced with ordering flowers online, but they seem to have better selection.
What happens if nobody's home if i order flowers for delivery online?
A lot depends on the service oyu are using and the local florist who makes up the arrangement and does the dleivery.
Many will try to leave the flowers with a neighbor before returning to the store.
And yes if the flowers you get on Thursday will still be good on Sunday provided you use the mixture to put in the water that will come with the flowers.
Why not order on Thursday for a Saturday delivery.
Reply:First part of your question. No way! They will never leave flower on the door step. They, take the flowers back to the shop. When you order there is a place provided next to the shipping address where you leave the delivery phone number. This is what that is for. If they are not home they will try to contact them by phone to find out when a good time is to come by. Those flowers will get to them!
I am way confused about your question about ordering on Thursday if the flowers will be good to give on Sunday. ARe you talking about ordering on line still? If so, yes of course. They do not arrage the flowers on the day you order them, they arrange them on the day they are to be delivered, so they are always fresh that day.
If you buy local flowers on a Thursday and want to give on a Sunday...don't do it! What you do is you put in your order on a Thursday for an arrangement to be made to be picked up on a Sunday. They will do that for you.

Has anyone ever used an online wholesale flower company for wedding?
I am looking at growersbox.com and am wondering if anyone has used them or another company like it and what you thought.
Has anyone ever used an online wholesale flower company for wedding?
I know people that have gotten them from there and they were so beautiful. If you do get them cut the stems as soon as they arive put them in water and in a cool place so they won't die.
Best of luck to you.
Reply:Do you have to be shrewd with every nickel? A local florist is going to be able to correct anything that goes wrong without much of a fuss.
I was a wedding photographer. I never saw a wedding that came off without a hitch.
Reply:Go local. That way you have some kind of recourse. Unfortunately with the online stores, you can be SOOL when the order is wrong or even a no-show.
Many local produce and even grocery stores will handle wholesale flowers for you and include delivery for a very reasonable fee. I'm in MI and had fantastic luck with Horrocks.
Reply:If you go to http://www.wedding-savings-for-bride-gro... and fill out a simple form with what you are looking for, you will get up to 4 price quotes from local florists. This way you can negotiate between them and hire the one who best meets your needs. There is no cost for this service or obligation to use any vendor who contacts you.
Reply:ive ordered flowers from proflowers pretty expensive to do a whole wedding but they usually come fresh from online places
Reply:I reccommend www.freshroses.com. I have never heard one complaint and tons of satisified brides.
Order the flowers two or three days beforehand so they have time to open up. Follow the directions they send and make sure you keep them in a cool place with plenty of water, preferably out of direct sunlight.
Reply:i havent, but i dont know if i would trust an online place like that. you never know what youre gittin. so you could go pay all this money and then end up with sh*t.

Where can I buy flowers online and get them delivered to someone while using Paypal?
Hey,
I would like to know where I can buy flowers online, my girls bday is soon and I'm overseas and I want to buy her some flowers and get them delivered to her. It would be better if they used Paypal.
Can someone help please!!
Where can I buy flowers online and get them delivered to someone while using Paypal?
1-800-FLOWERS just started using PayPal. The link for the site is below.
FTD, Teleflora, ProFlowers do not offer PayPal but do accept most major credit cards. Allow at least 5-7 days for accepting order to delivery or give them a delivery date and address.

Recommended online site to bulk flowers at wholesale prices?
I am in search of an online site where I can purchase bulk flowers for weddings and other events. Can anyone share their experience buying from an online store?
Recommended online site to bulk flowers at wholesale prices?
It depends. Are you looking for the more general 'supermarket' variety, or are you in search of something more unique? Would you be satisfied with 'supermarket' quality or do you need flowers fitting for a wedding? And how important is customer service throughout the ordering and delivery process?
I used to work in a florist shop and learned that not all wholesalers are alike. We would order from local wholesalers and online stores and saw differences in the offerings, quality, and service. Aside from some good local ones, we had great experience with wholeblossoms.com and supremeflower.com (I think they just got bought out). They're able to locate and sell product not shown on their website (wholeblossoms sells local wholesale, too, so they sell much more than shown online) and ship directly from their farms (think fresh). And they walk you through and after the sale (they love repeat customers).
There are more popular online stores but from what I saw, their prices tended to be a bit higher and didn't see much service after the order was place. Note that in the flower business, it is common to call back your wholesaler when your flowers arrive short a bunch or when your flowers are delayed due to canceled flights (esp when the wedding is tomorrow). So having that after sale service is important. Also, most online stores don't do local wholesale so they rarely see product like the local wholesalers. That separation from product sometimes gives the seller a different perspective when trying to explain the subtle differences between product (trust me, red is not always 'red' in the flower business).
Oh, yeah, one other important point. Select an online wholesaler that uses express shipping so your flowers don't come in as cargo (the ones above use express). Many times, cargo is bumped but express is guaranteed. Some of the online sites send your bulk flowers via cargo to save money, but most consumers would rather get their flowers when they're expected and not put up with delays.
So a lot said but I guess that happens when you used to work with flowers. And I think buying from an online wholesaler makes sense. The right ones are even cheaper than Sam's and Costco and offer much better quality.
Reply:My Sam's club has great prices on their roses, and will take orders. You can also ask about other flowers. You will have to go pick them up, but ask that your order be kept separate in the back cooler. I have a B%26amp;B and when a man calls to book I ask if this is a special occasion. If so I can give him 2 doz. roses, which always look spectacular, and do the arrangements myself. I'm not buying in bulk tho'. All are dated so you can make sure they are the freshest.

Where is a great place to buy plants and flowers online?
I live in Louisiana, super humid and prone to droughts. What types of plants would be good for this area that are some what low maintenance?
Where is a great place to buy plants and flowers online?
Hey Animal,
Wax Myrtle is an awesome plant, always green, can be a bush or a tree, big or small. Easy to grow, but not much color other than green. Crepe Myrtle is also a good drought resistant plant, but you get some nice colors when it blooms. Both are easy to care for. Crepe Myrtle, you need to keep the aphids off though.
But here are some sites to check out for Drought resistant plants. To buy a plant, simply type the name of the plant (common or botanical) and the word BUY on a Yahoo Search line.

Where can I find someone online who makes paper flower bouquets?
My friends 1st wedding anniversary is next weekend and I figured this would be nice. Has to be in the UK
Where can I find someone online who makes paper flower bouquets?
1. Refer to "How to Make Tissue Paper Flowers," "How to Make Paper Sunflowers," "How to Make Paper Roses" and "How to Make Mother's Day Flowers" for instructions and ideas on creating paper flowers.
2. Choose materials for your paper flowers in Mom or Grandma's favorite colors. Does she have a favorite flower? Why not try to make a paper version of it?
3. Make a papier-mch vase or other decorative container in which to present your bouquet. Decorate your container with a painted image of one or more of the flowers in your bouquet. Sign and date your container as well.
4. Wrap a bouquet in green, white or other colored tissue paper (as is done with some fresh flower bouquets). Decorate the tissue paper with decorative stamps, paint, crayons or markers.
5. Add scent to your bouquet by either spraying your bouquet lightly with a floral perfume or by tucking a small floral sachet into the vase or container. Choose scents that represent the flowers given. A sachet with rose petals would be perfect for a bouquet of paper roses.
6. Add baby's breath or other dried foliage to your bouquet to give the flowers a more realistic look.
7. Choose a flower to make and then make different sizes of that flower for your bouquet. You can also make that flower in a variety of colors. For example, combine white, red, yellow and pink roses of varying sizes in your bouquet.

Best online seed company for flower and vegetable seeds?
Anyone have a recommendation or a company to avoid. I bought Burpee two years ago because they are local and it was a disaster.
thank you!
Best online seed company for flower and vegetable seeds?
I like Pinetree Seeds in Maine. They sell in smaller packages, more suitable for home gardens, and at low prices. I have always had good germination rates from them.

Reply:i would like to racommend gurneys they have a web site i have got seeds and nursey plants for about 9 years from garding to my flower beds
Reply:Burpee is actually a reliable seed company. they will often give you a refund if the seeds you purchased from them did not germinate well.
That being said, you might like to check out Fedco Seeds. They are a cooperative, and are very reasonable, and they also have a website with lots of information about gardening and varieties.
To compare companies Dave's Garden site has a great comparison of mail-order companies based on user-ratings of their products.
Reply:If your in eastern Canada Vesseys seeds is really good. I've planted 3 year old beans and they germinated better than the ones I bought at the store.
Reply:two that I use all the time and have good luck with are "Thompson %26amp; Morgan" and "Park seed" I have used Burpee and had fairly good luck with their seeds but it seems some years certain seeds do not do good and the next year great. Both the companies named will replace seed for you if for some reason you get a short seed -package.
Reply:Highly recommend Harris Seeds...have used them for over 5 years and have complete success.
http://www.harrisseeds.com/
Another good one is Sieger Seed's. I have ordered a lot of seeds from them and have no problems.
http://www.siegers.com/
Also have got seeds from Pinetree Seeds....very cheap prices and lots of different varieties.

Reply:I used the seed companys at About.com because they have endorsements for them,
"best" can be subjective-price, quality, shipping terms, location, etc.
thank you!

Where can i find a flower shop online that sends the flowers to a person that are fresh?
1800flowers.com - I've used them a few times and they're good. Also, you can try ediblearrangements.com if you want to do a fruit arrangement that's more unique, and really tasty!
Reply:They only place online that I have purchased from and trust is 1800online
Reply:1800flowers.com is popular. You can call them also. 1800flowers = 1-800-356-9377.
Reply:FlowersAre Us.com
You can order boxed fresh roses, flowers, candy, bouquets, as well as professional floral arrangements for the holidays and all occasions.
Reply:Companies like 1800flowers, ftd, teleflora, and even your local florists DO NOT send fresh flowers. Their flowers have been sitting around in storage coolers for days and will wilt quickly.
Only a few companies send "fresh" flowers ie. hand-picked, direct from the grower, grower-fresh (look for these terms when ordering)
My favorite is (I've used them for years and always recommend them):
http://www.order-flowers-delivery.com/
and I hear proflowers.com is good/fresh as well, but i've read some reviews that say sometimes their flowers aren't "direct from the grower" either.
Reply:Click this link for several places that will send flowers for you:
http://www.google.com/search?q=how+to+se...
Reply:proflowers sends flowers directly from the growers to the recipient. my mom has recieved flowers from them several times and they have been great. Once the flowers got overheated during delivery (it was 100 degrees the day they were delivered) they completely replaced them and were very helpful.

Anyone order flower online??
I am planning know to order a flower online for my girlfriend, and I chose ftd.com. One thing I am concerned is that they mentioned that they would send the flower using UPS or Fedex... Will they ship the flower in a box or something?? Because it would be really weird if my girlfriend receives the flower in a box, it wouldn't be romantic.. anyone know about this?
Anyone order flower online??
If you order flowers on-line, you are dealing with two completely different businesses. Neither is a florist.
(1) One type of business is an order-transfer agent. We (real florists) call them "Order Gatherers." They take your order and then electronically transmit the order to a real mom%26amp;pop florist for fullfillment and delivery. This is called "Wire Service" and FTD.com does wire service, so do1-800-flowers.com and other numerous numbers of flower-sounding dot-coms. So-called "same-day delivery" uses this mechanism.
(2) Another type of business is called Direct Shipper. They ship unarranged flowers in a box using UPS or Fedex. ProFlowers.com is the best-known example. FTD.com does this Direct Shipping, too. If their website says "This item will be shipped by UPS/Fedex", they are not kidding. The picture is quite misleading because it shows a professionally arranged bouquet; but in reality, your recipeint will get flowers in a box. 1-800-flowers, too, offers Direct Shipping products. Flowers in a box are always cheaper than arranged flowers, however.
Your best option, in our opinion, is to call a local florist direct. This way, you would be sending, not a bunch of flowers in a box, but arranged flowers. In addition, you would save so-called "(Wire) Service Charge" which is around $13 for FTD.
For more info, you can take a look at our article for flower consumers below.

just ordered a "get well" bouquet that arrived just as the picture indicated. view their website before ordering. u will not be disappointed.
Reply:FTD.com does not ship flowers from a central location. They coordinate with a florist contracted with them and will ship from the nearest location to your destination. The flowers are boxed in some way to protect the vase and arrangement. The flowers are not boxed separately unless it's stated in the arrangement description. (Like long stem roses boxed specially in a gift box with ribbon). They know very well that presentation is part of the joy, so don't worry.

My boyfriend is staying in a hotel in Dubai over Valentine's day on business and I wanted to put something in his hotel room before he got there. Does anyone know of any gift or flower business/shops that are online that would deliver to that location? Something at a fairly reasonable price too. Thank you!

What are you looking for when you are at an online flower shop?
I am an online florist. There are so many online florists around. How can we differentiate ourselves from the others? If you were the online customer, what would you look for (price? design?) at the online flower shop?
What are you looking for when you are at an online flower shop?
I usually look at whats available in my price range and if they deliver where I want them to go. It would be nice if you had variations of the types of flowers you could send. Like 2 or three different options of the types of flowers in each arrangement. But usually price is the first factor.
Reply:cheap, good selection, reliable, can deliver to my location.
Reply:A florist that let you pick what flowers you want in an arrangement - the average person knows what flowers they want but we only get standard arrangements to chose from online. A customer would be sure of what the recipient will receive that way.
