Ordering flowers online?
we're trying to save money where we can, so my mother is going to do the flowers (she was a florist for a few years)
has anyone had expierience getting their wedding flowers in bulk from a website, how long do they last? should i do it?
Ordering flowers online?
best thing to do is go to Stop and Shop...they have the best flowers if youre gonna do them yourself...i got roses and they lasted me two weeks...changing water everyday
Reply:you may be better off speaking with a local florist (small shop) ask them if they would consider ordering the flowers for you in bulk and take a 10 percent markup from cost.
You would get them fresh and would be assured of high quality.
Reply:Hi. Yes, I ordered roses for my son's wedding from rosesource.com
http://www.rosesource.com/
They sell all kinds of flowers, not just roses, but I did order roses. You can read my testimonial on their site. It's under "Gail B."
I was EXTREMELY nervous ordering, but everything worked out! I don't have to tell you (or your mom) how much work it is, I'm sure your mom knows. Since the wedding was on a Saturday, I had the roses delivered on Thursday, and we did up centerpieces, etc. on Friday. It is a HUGE savings! I ordered 250 roses (which would have cost me well over $1,250 locally, and I only paid (in 2006) $160!!
They held up well and looked beautiful for the reception! Well worth it.
Another reputable one is: www.growersbox.com
I almost went with them until I stumbled upon rosesource and since I wanted roses, I went with them instead (and they were a little cheaper than growersbox.)
Good luck in your decision!

Online shopping for weddings?
I use to be a wedding planner. Online is useful for many things. Why on earth would anyone consider buying a wedding gown, jewelery, flowers, etc., online? Especially the gown!!!
If you can't touch it, you don't know if you like the feel. If you can't actually see it, you don't know if it's the exact color you want. If you can't try it on, you won't know if it suits your body, something VERY IMPORTANT. And, you end up paying for alterations that most stores will do for free if you purchase from them.
The same with linens, flowers. Unless you can see and feel them, you won't know if they are just right, or if they match.
The same applies for everything else. I've had many couples disappointed with online purchases for weddings.
Online is great for ideas, but when it comes to the real thing, you should go with a vendor in your area so you can deal with them in person in case of a problem, such as receiving your items on time, and in time to make changes.
Any thoughts?
Online shopping for weddings?
I am also a wedding planner and see no problem with on-line purchases. I have worked with Brides that have purchased several items on the web. Like anything else you would purchase on-line you have to be smart. Check the return policies, shipping polices, order in plenty of time to recieve your items and try to purchase from a credible source. You can find some great deals as well as saving some time especially if you are on a tight budget. My rule when purchasing a bridesmaid gown or wedding gown on-line are the following:
1. MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE and then Measure again! If you can get professionally measured from a seamstress then do so. Can't stress that enough! Ad hear to the size chart given by the vendor. This is a must for a proper fit. If your measurements don't add up right to theirs don't force it. Go up a size or look elsewhere.
2. Try to use a vendor with a return policy. Just in case you are not happy with your purchase once it's recieved.
3. Definately go to a Davids Bridal or Group USA type store and try on everything! This will help you decide what looks best on your figure. Then look for simular styles online if you don't find exactly what you want or want to find something at a cheaper price point.
I have worked with Brides that spend and average of $5,000 -$6,000 on their entire wedding so cutting costs are essential. It all depends on what is most important to the Bride. If flowers are extremely important to her than maybe going to a local vendor is the better choice than purchasing flowers online. It all depends on the Bride and what she's comfortable with. I as a planner often find the items on-line and lead the bride to credible vendors. There's nothing wrong with getting items on-line you just have to be smart about it! Just some of my comments when shopping on-line for wedding items.
Reply:I agree with you 100%.
Going local whenever possible should be the first option.
Flowers are a biggie. Someone local can store them until needed and you know they'll be fresh and right. Shipping is included.
Invitations can be done by a local printer, not someone in China. They'll be right the first time.
Money spent locally stays in the community not someplace else. Vendors have their reputations to think about and you also will be able to get and see local references and/or clients.
Reply:I have two friends who got their wedding dresses online, and they were beautiful!
Reply:I bought my dress on eBay and I was extremely happy with it.
I understand that there are a lot of risks involved with buying a dress you haven't actually seen and tried on, but the way I see it, if the dress wasn't what I was expecting, I could buy another on eBay! You could buy 4 wedding dresses on eBay for the price of what it costs at a bridal shop. Lucky for me, I got what I wanted on my first try.
My opinion, the money you can save by shopping online is worth the risk of not getting exactly what you want.
Reply:I agree for the most part. I wouldn't dream of buying my gown or accessories without trying them on. I sent pics of gowns that I thought I would love to the bridal boutique. When I tried those gowns on they did nothing for me! It was the help of the owner that got me the dress I love.
We are renting chair covers online. Around here the cheapest you can get them is $7 and it goes up from there!! I rented them for $3 each including shipping! My friend is going to put them on for me because I put them on for her daughters wedding.
I also ordered my guest book from Kodak.com. It was a picture book with blank pages for the guests to sign and it came out beautifully!
Reply:I initially began my dress shopping online in an effort to save money!! So many huge online distributors, not to mention eBay, makes it look like you could plan/do your wedding for mere pennies... not the case once you take into consideration the shipping (usually from Asia), the alterations (you can't try the stuff on!), the cleaning (garments from Asia can have a travel smell about them), and most likely the replacement of the item once you realize buying it online wasn't such a great idea.
I totally agree that the internet can be an excellent resource for ideas, and for the smaller items like favors etc. OR for those who have researched and shopped for their dress/items in "the real world" and are looking for an exact item online at a better price. Otherwise... get up from the computer brides!
Reply:i plan to get mine from an ebay seller in china. i am trusting bcse 1 - i've bought darn near everything off the net and had no probs.
2- cus i plan to order in enough time to have someone locally fix any probs the dress might have,
i'll be planning a more causal wedding so my dress won't be a super complex piece
same for invites- i'm shopping from ebay.
guess i'm not a worry some person
Reply:You can get just as easily hosed by a face-to-face vendor as you can shopping on line. Bottom line is the bride is either willing to do her homework to find reliable vendors or she isn't. Personally I have done my wedding almost exclusively online since I am planning it cross-country. I've saved thousands and been very happy with everything I've purchased. The same applies to every bride I've work for.
If you aren't comfortable with online shoppping that is your choice but don't make it sound like the only way to get screwed or make a bad purchase is over the internet. If anything, shops are worse because they have their salespeople constantly in your face about what you "have to have" at the wedding.

Has anyone bouht flowers for their bouquets online?
I bought my bouquet, 3 corsages, 4 boutonnieres from a vendor on eBay for $98. They are fake but you can't tell, they are excellent quality.
Reply:I spent 99 (shipping included) and bought SILK flowers bouquets off of ebay. they were GORGEOUS, AND will last forever! that included MY bouquet, a toss-away, 5 bridesmaids bouquets, 8 mens corsages and 3 female corsages. it was a GREAT deal, and i was very satisfied! i could put the extra money from not buying REAL flowers into other parts of the wedding that were more important.
Reply:I was directed to this site by a friend of mine who used them; I've heard nothing but good things about them. http://www.americanfloraldistributors.co...
She told me that they were better quality than the florist had in her shop! I didn't get to see first hand, but I did see the photos, they looked stunning.
Reply:Yes, for my son's wedding, I ordered 250 roses from www.rosesource.com
It was a lot of work....but well worth it!! Since roses are usually $4/each (where I live), that amount would have cost me $1,000 and I only paid $160!! That was 2 years ago. Now, they have gone up a somewhat, but they are still very reasonable. They also sell other flowers....not just roses. I would recommend them in a minute.

Reply:My friend bought hers from Proflowers and they were so beautiful. I was really impressed with the quality. Not only were the flowers very nice but they were packed well too.
Reply:My daughter bought roses from bigrose.com. She ordered 250 roses for 199.00. She got 3 different colors and we made all the bouquets. Check out youtube for ideas on how to make corsages and boutiners. She had 10 bridesmaids and they turned out great!
Reply:i didnt buy mine for a wedding but i brought them for my mum for mothers day

Do you know any website where I can buy a unique gift online to send to montreal? But it's not flower, chocolate or a basket of spa. It could be anything different and the price is less than USD 30. Thanks

Does anyone know of a reliable online perfume store, that would ship to the uk?
I was given a free sample of a perfume called " Flower Bomb". made by Viktor and Rolf and i love it! Unfortunately, this was in Chester, and i live in Bedfordshire and i cant find anywhere that stocks it! If you know where i can buy it thats close to Bedfordshire, or an online perfume shop, please let me know!

Ebay.com
Reply:You have expensive taste! Viktor And Rolf's perfume is sold in Harrods in London, however, fear not as they have an online store so you can order your perfume and wear it proudly in Bedfordshire!! Just search for flowerbomb in the search box to find it!

Where can I buy flowers online?
Specifically, I am looking for lavender roses, for my wedding-I found Vera Wang ones by FTD, but I need them for Feb. 19th, and delivery is not available. Does anyone know WHERE else I can find them?
I would also consider calla lillies, and does anyone know when you order if they will tie it for you?
Where can I buy flowers online?
http://www.order-flowers-delivery.com/bu...
has some wonderful lavender roses that are fresh-picked, unlike FTD or 1800flowers.com that have been sitting around storage coolers for days.
I have been using them for years and love their customer service.
You should have no problem getting them delivered on the 19th.
Good Luck!

there are the lavendar ones, they usually ship all year with no problems. As long as your willignt o do the bouquets yourself.
Reply:www.bigrose.com - they have lavendar roses...not sure when they ship by though..I think you could get them in still.
Reply:I ordered all my flowers from www.theflowerexchange.com and I cannot say enough good stuff about them. I used a variety of lilies for my flowers but they do have lavender roses. The price was right, the quality was great, they were stunning. In fact, I loved them so much, I ordered a bunch of flowers for my Thanksgiving celebration.
Good luck!

Reply:Do *NOT* order from 1-800-FLOWERS (or 1-800-FLOWERS.com), ftd.com, etc. Go to http://maps.google.com, look up a local florist, and call them. You can even price out a few that way. Trust me, you'll be much, much happier.

The only problem is....the minimum you can buy are 75 and in some shades the minimum is 125.

I am getting my mother a new plant for her yard for Christmas, the only things that or local nurserys and Lowes or Home Depot has right now are non flowering trees, nothing pretty, My mother is the best when it comes to plants. I want to get her something different as in a flowering shrub, please do not send me links to places that deliver boquets, I am looking for the live growing things. Thanks a ton!

I ordered from TYTYGA.com on Monday and had my nagami kumquat tree delivered about midday today and I didn't pay for express shipping - not bad and they have a huge selection on their website (i did not order on line - i called in my order after looking up exactly what I wanted on line) - you can also look for parkseed (they sell more than seeds)

Sending online flowers..serious question!?
ok im sending some roses to a very special girl. but i want it to be a surprise, like a mystery for her till i tell her it was from me. this is my first time sending flowers,
and i was just wondering if once they are delivered, will they attach my address and visa name account all on the delivery flowers for her to see?
Sending online flowers..serious question!?
If you order online, they will include a packing slip most likely. That would have your info on it. But, if you call her local florist, you can do it anonymously.
Reply:yes,definitely....u try email her...and tell her that she is gonna get somthing....today...or tell her on YMes....or call...her...she would be surprised to see them
Reply:As a florist, I can tell you that many of us are very wary of sending anonymous gift. Most of states now have what is called "anti-stalking law" including our state, NY.
Sending a flower to someone, whether it's anonymous or not, can be threatening to a certain recipient, depending on the circumstances. Most responsible florists would refuse to lend a helping hand to someone whose gift is not appreciated by the recipient. Most of us have this kind of experience from time to time.
Now, if the person who orders flowers asks to remain anonymous, it raises... well... a yellow flag. It depends on each florist to deal with the situation. The difficulty is that it all depends on the actual relationship between the sender and recipient, which the florist has no information of. So we tend to play safe.
If a florist knows you personally, then it should be OK. But if you place an order with one of the online "florists" (who by the way are just sales agents, not florists), then the actual florist who delivers your flowers don't know you. They might refuse to deliver, in which case your order won't go anywhere.
Reply:no you can ask the flower company for it to be anonymous and she would have no clue and its would be a fantastic surprise!
Reply:Ok are you slow? go to a flower shop in person, pay in cash... wow, never ever commit a crime......
Reply:no they wont... call and check too

where can I buy some pretty studs online that are okay for people who are allergic? I've been wearing diamond earrings for 6 months, and not to sound snobby or anything but it gets kind of boring after that long... especially if your friends change almost every 2 days! Lol. What flower is this?
I had these plants pop up in my flowerbed and in the grass nearby. They are bulbs, the ones I saw were about as big as a green onion. The leaves are skinny and long and look almost like grass. The flowers are white with 6 fairly skinny petals and a yellow center. They do not droop like bells, they are wide open like a childs picture of a flower. I live in Ohio and they just started blooming about a week or two ago. I've looked online and in books and can't quite figure out what they are. Any clue?
What flower is this?
Sounds like Stars of Bethlehem's but you can check for bulb sites and double check.

Does 1800 flower thing ruin ur relationship w/ ur love one? 1800 flower tel flower company is sued for 1.5M TX
Some radio stations use 1800 flower online/tel companies to fool ppl. They may say it's whatever occasion and they would like to give a dozen flowers for free. They ask you what you want to put in the card and who u r going to give the flowers to. If you say you want to give the flowers to someone other than ur girlfriend/boyfriend/wife, then u hear another voice...ur love one is also on the other line. Ur relationship is destoryed. A person in TX sued the station for 1.5M for his divorce and settlement fees w/ his ex wife. Want to hear what u guys feel about that? I personally dislike that kind of radio stations.
Does 1800 flower thing ruin ur relationship w/ ur love one? 1800 flower tel flower company is sued for 1.5M TX
I think it serves them right. Just like the guy suing 1-800 flowers cause they sent the thank you card to his house and his wife found it. Now he's suing them, well he got what he deserved, he shouldn't be cheating. It always comes back around and nwo people are just helping to make that happen. Serves them right and I have no compassion for them whatsoever.
Reply:Hey, if you are cheating, then you should be a little smarter in your stupidity.
1800Flowers didn't ruin the relationship, your cheating did!
as for the radio stations, if someone called me and asked me to name the person I wanted to send flowers, I would name myself, that way, you make him jealous, and no one knows any wiser!

Where can i get stick-on designs to brighten up white ceramic wall tiles? i've tried to find them online.Ros
Studio cards
Reply:I got mine in Homebase - not sure if they had sunflowers though.
Reply:Focus have them. We put the transfers on the kitchen tiles, and they look good.
B %26amp; Q probably will have them, or any good DIY.
Reply:I've seen these in B %26amp; Q - I think all similar stores have them. Why not also try a specialist Tiles store, they may have a wider range?

Reply:I'm getting my flowers from Proflowers weddings. We're eloping on July 10th so it was really important to find an online vendor that could ship our flowers to our destination on short notice.
They have a lot of different packages. The only downside is that they don't sell things a la carte. All I really needed was a bouquet. Their prices are very reasonable and their packages are great!

Reply:I don't know of any fresh flower sources that have prearranged flowers, but I did find this site with silk flowers: http://www.weddingsandflowers.com/.
Also, check Ebay for silk flower decorations.
Congrats and good luck!

Has anyone heard of a flower called genestra?
I'm trying to find the proper spelling, so I can find photos online. They're supposed to be clusters of tiny white blossoms attached to long, thin stems.
Has anyone heard of a flower called genestra?
The wholesale florists spell this - ginestra; with the letter g pronounced as "j". We retail florists commonly use the pink or the white variety of this filler flower in bridal bouquets, more expensive high style arrangements, or european style arrangements.
Here's another link to a picture of the white ginestra:
http://www.plantaflor.com/gin.htm
Reply:I think you mean Genista. Genista is the genus and there are about 90 species, most of the tolerant of Zone 7-9 conditions. A few are hardier. Common name = broom.
Remember the Plantagenets of England? The first Plantagenet got his name from the Latin Planta Genista, because he wore a spring of broom in his hat.
Historical trivia....
Reply:Yellow weed
Reply:I found some stuff for you...with the spelling "ginestra". It can be several different colors, but you are correct in that the natural color is white.
You can see pictures in some of the links below. The kind I think you want are the ones used for bouquet fillers, correct? There are also some yellow wildflowers by the same name, and there is a picture of that kind as the second link.
I hope this is what you want...they are really pretty! :)

Where can I find an online template to create a simple personal letterhead?
I want an unfussy letterhead containing my name, address, phone numbers and email address - no fancy logos or graphics with Mickey Mouse, flowers, teddies or flags etc. I have found templates for letterheads but they are usually geared toward businesses. I want to print my own notepaper using my own computer and printer. A free template would be great but I'd also be happy to pay for an inexpensive design.

How can I find a professional photographer to view my pictures online and give me advice ?
I would like to find someone who can not only look at my pictures, but give me advice and help me use my camera to get the best possible pictures. I have a Minolta Dimage 6. I just started taking pictures and would LOVE to take great pictures. I have tons of neighbor kids I took at a local park that has tons of flowers and such. Those, I think, turned out really nice. One mother used my pictures for school pictures instead of paying the school. That really made me feel good. But there is still so much I do not know and would like to learn. I just havent found anyone who will take me under their wing and help me. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!
How can I find a professional photographer to view my pictures online and give me advice ?
You do not need to go to formal school to become a photographer but you have to learn it from somewhere be it from a class room environment or from you reading and doing things on your own.
You also have alot of people here that can give good advice (and bad) so you have to take it with a grain of salt and not get offended when somebody tells you something that you don't want to hear. You need to have a website or something and give a link to your pictures.
Below is some information that will also help you.
1. You should learn the technical aspects of photography and your camera (composition, shutter speed, rules of thirds, depth of field etc), once you understand these you will be able to create better images.
2. Shoot in "M" (manual mode) because you will have more control over your camera and not the other way around. When you are in one of the "Auto" modes the camera will just read the highlights and shadow areas and try to get you a picture. The camera is not smart enough to know what you are shooting.
3. You can start reading all kinds of books on this subject and get information from the internet. This includes web based classes, manufactures web sites to personal blogs.
4. Buy the best DSLR camera that you can afford this also includes good lenses. Take out your camera and manual sit down and go over all the buttons and knobs etc.. this is the best way for you to learn what your camera can do.
5. Start shooting with your camera to get practice and from what you are learning from reading and doing you will get better. Practice does make perfect. Take notes while shooting and then look at your photos on the computer find the best one from that set and see what you did to get the shot.
6. You can get yourself a job as a photographers assistant (be it payed or free) and learn from that person.
7. My suggestion is to find a part of photography that you would have an interest in and point in that direction.
Since you have access to the internet here is a start: Some you have to pay for and some are free, start with the free stuff of course.

To start you can become a student member of both ASMP and NPPA. Those memberships will get you connected to some pros and help you in your quest.
You may find that like most pros, going to school and learning how to compose, expose, develop and print your images is the first big step.

One of the advantages of asking photographers who use similar equipment is that they can give you constructive advise and techniques, directly applicable to your camera.
Go to Yahoo Groups and look at the photography forums. If you don't see one that suits your interests, start one.

What is the best search engine or directory to find/buy flowers for Valentine day?
I am planning to buy and send valentine flowers online. I have never purchsed any product online. I am wondering, if someone can help me find the best website where I can compare price and products from brand name florist and finally buy valentine flowers online to send it to my sweatheart this year.
What is the best search engine or directory to find/buy flowers for Valentine day?
Search for a florist that is located in the area in which you would like the flowers delivered. This saves you money because there are no extra "service" charges that companies charge to "pass on" your order to a florist in your area. If you go with one of the big online wire services you will still get your flowers from a local florist but you will have to pay a service charge for them taking the order.
Save yourself time, money and headaches and order from a local florist.
Best Wishes!
Ms. Orchid

It's a Matha Stewart flower site.

There have to be some dried flower experts out there!!?
I have a few flowers from my grandma's funeral and a motivational quote that she enjoyed very much that I would like to frame. The flowers have already been pressed and are ready to be framed but I can't seem to find too much information on how to frame it. I wanted to do a small window box because I have hanging dried flowers as well. Does anyone know how I can make my crafts project into a beautiful memorabilia? I can't seem to find any real useful information online or at craftstore sites.

If i make an online transaction with a debit card, what information will show on my statement?
Say I was buying flowers with a personal debit card, would a name such as "Rosie's flowers" in any way show up anywhere...either to my bank or on an account summary statement?
i know if i wrote a check, all i would get would be the used checks and the numbers would appear with the payment amount on the statement...i dont know how that's different with online transfers.
If i make an online transaction with a debit card, what information will show on my statement?
If you don't want to leave a 'trail' use cash or check then! The short answer to your question is YES there is always something showing up on your statement...it depends on what the 'business' calls itself to the bank....It may be a florist called Rosie's from Interflora which may show as Rosie's Florist or Interflora.....it totally depends on what the company wants to be known as on transactions and what the Bank abreviates their name to.....
Having bought many things online with credit cards there is always some reference back to that transaction.
Reply:the best thing to do is to buy those new visa gift certificate cards, that way when you buy por.. I mean flowers it won't show up on your account.
Reply:debit or credit cards will show up with the company/shop name. these can vary depending on the details they set up when setting up their merchant details. usually it's very similar or exactly the company name.
some companies have discreet names if for example they are related to adult entertainment or lingerie etc etc.
but if you are concerned about someone seeing i suggest cash or cheque
Reply:You used your card for a dirty website and now everyone will know what you do...

I think Numi tea sells it at Whole foods. I saw a display at the Burbank Media Center advertising them. Call to make sure, if they sell it still. It's been a year since the display.

What place online sells graveside flowers, ornaments etc?
Anything that is a reputable company, or you used them before that sells battery operated candles that you find at churches, angels, angel lights, memorial banners for parents, wreaths, etc?? Please serious replies only, NO spam.
What place online sells graveside flowers, ornaments etc?
Last Christmas I put a lot of decorations on my parents headstone. Some of the stuff stuck to the headstone, and basically pulled up the finishing. So the headstone has these splotchy places on it and it doesn't look good. My suggestion is just go with silk flowers in the vase.
Reply:I've bought silk flowers from a couple of eBay sellers at great prices and had excellent service and delivery. It might be worth a look to see if you can find what you need. These are often small time retailers who do floral arrangement and sell the extras on eBay. You can tell from their info if they’ve been around for awhile and have established a good reputation.
You can always save a lot of money if you buy the flowers and make your own arrangements.

I need help with possible ideas for flower marketing?
I'm running a florist and the bussiness is doing pretty good. We depend greatly on the internet for online orders and such. I'm trying to think ahead to where we don't have to rely on it so much. I'm trying to open accounts with big coporate offices and try to live of of those accounts. I'm looking for other potential accounts and do not know where to look. Or if there are any other better suggestion on marketing, it'd be really appreciated. Please help me out.
I need help with possible ideas for flower marketing?
Now just why the heck would big companies choose to do business with you in the first place? They do not need flowers. They could use them for some special occassions- but if you start calling and selling for that purpose, #1 what other things could you be doing that might be better for you and #2 are you prepared to deal with the massive inventory shifts that come with corporate orders?
Start with DATA about who buys flowers, when, why, and how.
Reply:Business and corporate buildings is a great place to start. Strange places to try - offer a discount to churches (my catholic church has 6 new arrangements every week) if you can offer them descent pricing, they may use you exclusively and that's money every week you can count on. Also, funeral homes - again, if you offer them some kind of deal they will use you or you can give them special benefits for recommending you to funeral attendants. (people that come from out of town and need to buy flowers will rely on the funeral home to recommend someone). Hotels, spas, and salons also always have fresh arrangements. Wedding shops, you could even pair up with a couple of wedding coordinators (they will use you if they can rely on quality workmanship time after time).Hope these ideas get you started.

Does anyone know if there was a rug that went with the Pottery Barn Kids Lavender Flower Patch bedding set?
The set is discontinued and I've searched online. I'm not even sure a rug existed with this line, but if someone knows for sure that would be great. Or if you have this set, what rug did you use? Thanks.
Does anyone know if there was a rug that went with the Pottery Barn Kids Lavender Flower Patch bedding set?
I don't think a rug came with this set. There are some nice lavender rugs on the Pottery Barn Kids web site that would probably go well with this. There is a nice lavender chenille braided rug that is pretty.
Rugsusa.com also have some pretty lavender throw rugs.

Where can I order wedding flowers online?
anyone know good websites?
Where can I order wedding flowers online?
There are a lot of online sites that provide fresh flowers for wedding events. Some of them are flower.com, fromyouflower.com and Dutch Gardens. All of them offer same day delivery as the day you placed your order, to ensure the flowers are fresh and in good condition. They are committed to delivering the flowers on the same day that it was ordered, failing which, your delivery fee can be waived
Use a Flower.com coupon to order online and save $10 off your purchases! You can even find exclusive deals for flowers and gift baskets going at a ridiculously low price of $29.95! Check out this EXCLUSIVE deal now at http://freeflowercoupon.blogspot.com/
Reply:1) Don't sacrifice quality for convenience. You ALWAYS want to check out the florist, especially if you want fresh flowers.
2) If you want fake flowers, go to your local craft store. You'll find them on sale (50% off) and you'll know EXACTLY what you are looking at. Some websites distort the actual color and product.
3) Don't be mislead by the Internet. It's a great place, but researching your options is going to give you the best deal.

Flowers Online? =P?
*Cough* So yeah. I met this girl online and we fell in love with each-other. Her birthday is coming up and I want to send her flowers. Here is the catch. I don't want to seem creepy and ask for her address. Are their any websites that deliver flowers to the addresses of other members in which the sender is unable to see the address?
I'd appreciate any help, I really don't want her to feel uncomfortable so it has to be secure. Kinda like paypal but with flowers instead of money %26lt;.%26lt;
Thank you in advance. ^^
Flowers Online? =P?
The on line flower is just the same as any flower shop. They both do need a place: like an address to sent the flower to. How else is she going to get the flower. Without an physical address your best luck is to sent her e card. I think she would appreciate that. What's most important is that your thoughtfulness that counts. Best of luck.
Reply:well so, not creepy. just kinda stalkerish. if you fell in love, you should have her address. I've worked in many florists for over 15 yrs. and that just has... STALKER all over it.
Reply:I don't care what you say...sorry this is weird.
1) How can you be in love w/ her on line?
2) WHY wouldn't you ask her for her address?
3) Has she told you she loves YOU?
4) This just sounds wrong, like you want to remain anonymous for a reason.
Look, I know you said you weren't a stalker, but if it walks like a duck and looks like a duck....It's a DUCK.
Just call her office and get her work address and send them there, what you're doing is to strange sorry but I had to respond with my own opinion...I wouldn't have the slighest clue to tell you where to go, I don't think this is a "common procedure"
I was going to recommned www.1800flowers, but after reading all of this. You want something else. Sorry
if there is such a site, I wish you well.
I can't seem to understand how people can fall in love online only? I can see where you could become infatuated or in LUST, but you've never even been to her house or have her address??? Hum...ever think there's a reason for that???
Reply:Go on whitepages.com and look her name up. That should be able to tell you all the information you will need to know for sending flowers.
Reply:You need a street address. How else is the delivery person supposed to know where she lives?
Reply:Send it to her work address, instead. If all else fails, simply forego the surprise thing as it may surprise you she perceive surprises as "creepy" and ask her if she is OK with giving her personal address to someone who is a *cough* romantic guy who want to send flowers to his new love.
Maybe next time you can surprise her with something else or more flowers, as you've envisioned or fantasized, you romantic devil, you.
Reply:just ask her for the address
Reply:Yeah...so...I think any way that you do this it is going to seem creepy. It would almost be better to ask her address. Or even her work address or friends address. Just tell her what your trying to do.

Ordering Wholesale Flowers Online?
Let's get real, flowers are expensive. They are really expensive for something that dies in 2 or 3 days. However, I have to admit, they really do give weddings a little something extra.
I don't want a lot of flowers. I actually think too many flowers is tacky and unoriginal. However, I do want simple, clean and classic rose centerpieces on my tables.
I was thinking about ordering roses from an online wholesale florist and putting together these centerpieces myself (and with help from family and some friends)
However, I know that ordering from wholesale can be hit or miss. I was thinking about pink roses. However, the color "pink" can vary greatly between each bunch of flowers. Pink can even be different from week to week, based on how the flowers have been growing.
Has anyone order flowers online through a wholesale? Particularly Roses? What was your experience?
What about ordering bouquets?
Ordering Wholesale Flowers Online?
Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
YES.....I have done this! I ordered through www.rosesource.com.
I will give you the link at the end. I know exactly what you mean by being nervous about ordering online, but my experience was wonderful and I would HIGHLY recommend them! You can read my testamonial on their site under "Gail B."
I ordered 250 roses for my son's wedding in 2006. They arrived EXACTLY when they were supposed to.....on the dot. They said "by 11 a.m." and they were here about 10:45 a.m. You can track your order through Fed Ex. And....you can also speak with a representative if you have questions.
Now....look at all the "pinks" that they have. You can specifically order whatever "color" you want.
My only warning is that it is A LOT of work! Since I ordered so many roses it took me 2-1/2 hours to unwrap them.....cut the stems....and put them in water with floral food. Also, since the wedding was in the summer....thankfully I have an air conditioned house. They tell you NOT to put them into a refrigerator unless it is specifically made for flowers. The other thing....it's hard because they don't look "the best" when they arrive....but don't despair because they are all "squished together." Once they have been in the water with floral food for a few days....they looked GREAT!
With the wedding being on a Saturday, the roses arrived on Thursday, and then my sister and I did up the arrangements on Friday. It all worked out great and they looked beautiful!
Where I live, an individual rose runs $4. So, with ordering 250 roses...it would have cost me $1,000....but instead I only paid $160!! (The prices have gone up slightly from 2006, but it's still a great deal!)
ALSO....you CAN order already "done up" bouquets, which are still cheaper than ordering from a florist and it's free shipping! Click on "wedding flowers", then click on "bouquets."
Here is the link:
http://www.rosesource.com/
Good luck. Email me if you have further questions.
Reply:http://weddings.proflowers.com/?ref=prof...
Pro Flowers is the best! I have given and received flowers from them many, many times and they are always gorgeous and last at least 10-14 days without looking wilted or dried out. The link above will take you to their wedding sections where you can view different flowers, bouquets, arrangements, and packages. Oh, and their prices are far less than any florist I've been to, and like I said, amazing quality. Definitely worth checking out.
Reply:First of all that is a very beautiful centerpeice! That is a lovely and very elegant idea!
Secondly, I also was thinking of ordering my flowers online and haven't ordered them yet, but I have heard of a few vendors who work with www.theflowerexchange.com and they said that they have wonderful quality and prices.
Good luck and congrats!
Reply:I ordered 100 ivory and white roses from a whole online store and they were perfect. They came in a refrigerated Fed Exp truck and every single rose was beautiful.
I used http://www.growersbox.com/
They need to get there at least 3 days prior. I should have had mine arrive 5 days prior so they'd have more time to open. They were nicer than any florist, and fresher, too. Not to mention a fantastic price.
Reply:Don't forget you will need storage of the centerpieces. Refrigeration is best %26amp; finding that much space can be hard if not impossible to do at home! Also, you will have to arrange for your family, friends or coordinator to transport the flowers the day of %26amp; set them up. Check with your site to see if they will let someone come early to deliver %26amp; set up.
If you really want to go this route, you might want to do a test run. Your shower or a party would be a good trial run. Order a smaller pkg of flowers from the wholesaler, arrange them %26amp; see how they do during storage.
Good luck! Post pictures!
Reply:I am also in the same boat, I will be ordering my flowers from fiftyflowers.com, for the money they give you alot of flowers, I am getting 50 blue roses and 125 mixed white and yellow roses for $279 and that includes shipping... so I will be making all the bouquets and everything but I'm keeping it all real simple im just adding some crystals to everything to bling it up lol.... the crystals are going to be these for my bouquet http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie... and these for my bridesmaids: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie... you can also get a crystal letter to put in your bouquets
Reply:DONT DO IT ONLINE YOU ASKING FOR EXTRA PROBLEMS ON YOUR DAY you wont get to see them till they arrive and you may think there ugly and they might be ugly if your worried about cost go to a store and tell them your cost limit on flowers tell them what you want and they will help you I personally think that the only flowers you needs are the bouquet and maybe some small table arrangement on the tables but there is more things you can use in the arrangements then just flowers one wedding i went to used the amazing clear bowls and had blue gems at the bottom with fish in them and floating candles it was amazing
Reply:This website has a whole section about ordering flowers online. They will ship them to arrive on the wednesday before the wedding. All you do is throw them in water for a few days and then they are ready to be arranged.
This website has been around for years and they are located in California, so no import problems. They have several different levels of roses (sweetheart, standard - you pick the color, not the variety, and premium - about 16 varieties) and you order them in bunches of 25. They also have a lot of other flower options, everything from carnations to hydrangeas and ranocoluous. They are recommended in the book Bridal Bargains.

Once they have been in the water with floral food for a few days....they looked GREAT!

Good luck. Email me if you have further questions.

Does anybody know a great place where i could buy these beautiful flower/plants?
Only two
The Puya Alpestris or "Sapphire Tower" and
Dicentra Spectabilis "Bleeding Heart"The white variety, not the pink or red or crimson ones.
I been wanting a garden for so long and these caught my eye. I wanna know a reputable suggestion preferably from experience. Most people just look up the name online, I'm looking for something more.

If you are starting a garden, there are a lot of other plants that will give you a lot better results that the bromeliad you mentioned. It is not recommended as a landscape variety. I don't think that any bromeliad is a good choice for home gardening unless in a pot. the variety you mentioned is very small. Bromeliad connection, in austin texas might be able to help you.
Bleeding heart is another story however.
I love them for the foliage and the cool flowers.
Walmart actually had the white ones in the spring last year. They are sold as a dormant rootstock. mine did great. Remember though that bleeding hearts may go dormant when the temperatures get really hot especially if they are not getting quite enough water.
Rethink the bromeliad........the flowers are really insignificant, no matter what they tell you
Reply:Have you looked at the website for "Wayside Gardens" not only to they have a great selection there is a guaranty on there plants.
Reply:I dont know about sapphire tower but the bleeding heart can be found at www.michiganbulb.com.... Keep in mind their plants are very small when you get them either bare root or potted in about 2w X 3d pots but they get great reviews and gurantee their plants, if they die they will replace them for free. I ordered a bunch of plants from them in Nov. and am excited to see how they do this spring
Reply:spring hill nusery is a pretty good place online for bleeding heats. has a ton of colors including white.

How should I deal with dishonest online customers ?
t's only been months since I put up my cut flower delivery business. I made some modest profits on it. But lately, a number of customers claimed they didn't receive their ordered goods .But my records show the proper receipts they signed for the delivery. It's dishonesty, plain and simple. They contested the delivery from their credit card company and subsequently cancel all payments towards my account.
How should I deal with this form of dishonest act?
How should I deal with dishonest online customers ?
Are you responding to the disputes and are they through the credit card processor, directly? if you're dealing with a third party, that makes things tough.
if you're dealing with the credit card processor directly, find out what they require to secure a transaction from being reversed and make sure you have it for every sale. I'm also not above lying when dealing with liars. I handled disputes for a small business, and what the bank requested as proof, the bank GOT- whether or not we actually had it.
Most people who are lying to start out with won't fight the dispute further if they lose. After all, they know they are in the wrong.
Reply:sue them. if they signed for them. then you would win.
Reply:I think...for Every action there should be equal and opposite reaction....U better convey them in this way

Whats the easiest way to grow a white and a black Bat Flower from seed?
I've read alot of online instructions , just wondering what a good place inside or outside , what kind of light would work best , etc . I live in Victoria BC , so the climate outside isn't always that ideal to grow these since they grow in the understories of rainforests in deep shade naturally . Suggestions ...besides not growing them at all :)
Whats the easiest way to grow a white and a black Bat Flower from seed?
First of all has the seed got a hard outer shell? if so then I would soak it over night in warm water in a warm place to soften the cotyledon then plant in a fine grade seedling mix %26amp; place beside a window or put a piece of glass over the top of the container with something holding glass ajar slightly for ventilation,im sure these seeds take weeks %26amp; weeks to germinate so be patient!
Good Luck!!!

On line Flower Shops?
I need to find a Cheap Online Flower Shop Fast! I Need Sympathy Flowers for my Grandfather's Funeral.
On line Flower Shops?
This is a mail order place, but if you don't mind paying extra for express delivery they can help you out. Go to: www@mileskimball.com. Look for the dozen long stemmed roses. They're available in: pink, red, or yellow. I don't sell anything, but I buy many things from them. I have bought the pink ones for my mom %26amp; dad's 50th anniversary in the past. They were beautiful!
Reply:Without knowing which country you reside in, it's difficult to give an answer.
Your best move is to do a local Google search or an online yellow pages search.
Sorry to learn of your grandfather's death.
Reply:FTD.com is a well known flower merchant. They won't send you any crap flowers that should have been thrown out and if you ask about it (they also have an 800#) you may be able to get a arrangement of cheaper if it isn't the high demand type flowers like roses.
